The Baccalaureate Ceremony is a special event to honor the College of Arts and Science's graduating class. The ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Radio City Music Hall. This event provides a final opportunity for you to be together as a class and to be honored by Dean Jarrett and the faculty on the occasion of your graduation
Dean's Awards Ceremony
At this afternoon reception, the College of Arts and Science each year recognizes the students who have demonstrated exceptional ability. These are the students that the College and departments have selected for graduation honors and awards.
The Class of 2018, their families and friends will be invited to this Commencement eve celebration—an outdoor festival featuring music, dancing, street performers, food and fun!

The President of New York University will preside over the event and confer degrees.
- Candidate invitations to commencement are issued by the Commencement Office early in April. They are extended to all graduates and degree candidates for degrees for the 2017-2018 academic year (September 2017, January 2018 and May 2018). Candidates for May degrees are identified as those who have applied for graduation via Albert.
- Academic Attire Traditional cap and gown are required and can be rented or purchased.
- Your Diploma Distribution of diplomas does not take place at the Commencement ceremony. The Office of the University Registrar will send your diploma by mail to your permanent address in about 8 weeks.
- Commencement Portraits Seniors may elect to sit for commencement portraits in May. Academic attire and a minimal fee are required. Complete information may be found on the Commencement website.
