Marie Tosa – Class of 2011
I graduated with my BA in biology from NYU in May 2011 and with my MS in zoology at Southern Illinois University Carbondale in May 2015. Since then, I've been working jobs in wildlife and ecology; last summer, I was in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks working on a river otter project, and in the fall, I was helping out on the Mexican Wolf Recovery Project in Arizona. I just started a new job at the US Geological Survey working on bighorn sheep research and conservation in Glacier National Park, Dinosaur National Monument, and Grand Canyon National Park. I'm lucky that my office is in Glacier National Park and part of my job involves hiking some of the iconic trails; I'm collecting data on plant phenology to assess the impacts of climate change on this region and grizzly bears.
