A Message from FREDERICK J. SALEK (ARTS '71)President,
NYU College Alumni Association
As members
of the NYU College Alumni Association, we represent almost 70,000 graduates of Washington Square
College, University
College, the School
of Engineering, and the present-day College of Arts and Science. I invite you to join me in preserving the
traditions of these fine schools and promoting their combined heritage in the College of Arts and Science.
As president
of the College Alumni Association, I am pleased to welcome you to the official CAS
Alumni Web site. From here you can learn about your alma mater, as well as
information about a wide variety of alumni benefits, services, and events. Alumni also have access to the new Jeffrey S. Gould Welcome
Center on Washington Square and the Wasserman Center for Career Development located in
the Palladium Residence Hall in Union
Square.
Our Alumni
Association sponsors a number of events during the year, including meetings
with current students, informative guest speakers, and NYU athletic events (few
realize how enthusiastic and entertaining Division III athletics can be – and
affordable, too). We try to schedule our
events for the first Tuesday of each month to allow you to plan your visits to
NYU. Our academic year is capped off in
the spring by our annual Alumni-Student Career Dinner, the Athletic Department
Hall of Fame Inductions, the All-University Alumni Reunion Weekend and the CAS
Dean’s Luncheon!
One of our
prime objectives is to increase the participation of our alumni in the Fund for
NYU. Alumni who support the Fund on an
annual basis receive an NYU Alumni Card. With your Alumni Card, you can enjoy
special discounts on New York City-area parking, at events around the city and
on campus, and at the NYU Bookstore and Computer Store. Your Alumni Card also
provides limited access to Bobst Library and the Jerome S. Coles and Palladium
athletic facilities. And you can make your gift online!
Our College
has established an unparalleled record of achievement – academic, business,
scientific and artistic – together with unparalleled diversity. As president of
the College Alumni Association, I hope that you will get involved in shaping
NYU's future by contributing to and getting involved with the University, for example,
by mentoring an NYU
student.
I look
forward to working with you this year and look forward to seeing you on campus
soon.
Cordially,
Frederick
J. Salek, Esq. (ARTS '71)
