AAU STEM Network Mini-Grant Mission
New York University has received a grant in Spring 2019 from the Association of American Universities (AAU), the organization representing the foremost research universities in the U.S., to explore new ways to improve teaching and student engagement in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) courses. NYU’s proposal – Excellence in Undergraduate Laboratory Sciences Instruction by Design – was one of only 12 university proposals to receive an AAU STEM Network Mini-Grant. This website summarizes grant activities and resources for the broader community interested in advancing STEM education. The key grant areas include:
- Innovation and assessment in the Large Introductory Lecture;
- Lab Science Pedagogy for majors vs. non-majors (including pre-health);
- Diversity support in STEM; and
- Space-related infrastructure and innovations.
