The event will feature a conversation with contributing opinion writer for The New York Times, Roxane Gay, and other featured guests. Manthia Diawara, writer, filmmaker, and NYU Professor of Comparative Literature and Film, will receive this year’s MLK Humanitarian Award.
For the 14th consecutive year, NYU will commemorate Dr. King’s visit and his legacy by hosting a week-long schedule of special events. The theme for this year’s NYU Martin Luther King, Jr. Week is, What’s Left of the Dream?
