Double-Counting Courses
Students can double-count up to two courses between Business Studies and another major or minor. No more than two of the required courses for the Business Studies minor may also be used to satisfy requirements for a major or other minor. As a general rule, a student must take four non-overlapping courses to complete the Business Studies minor.
In cases where a student's major/minor combination means they will double-count more than two courses, the student is required to take one additional Stern elective for each double counted course beyond two.
OK
- A Psychology major/Business Studies minor can double-count Statistics for Behavioral Sciences (PYSCH UA-10) between their major and minor.
- A Pyschology major/Computer Science & Math minor/Business Studies minor can double count Statistics for Behavioral Sciences (PSYCH UA-10) and Calculus (MATH-UA 121) towards their major and minor requirements.
NOT OK
- An Economics major/Business Studies minor following the pre-Fall 2016 track of the minor may potentially need to double-count three courses (ECON-UA 1, ECON-UA 2, and ECON-UA 18/20) between their major and minor. This is one course beyond the two permitted double-counted courses. In this situation, a student would potentially need to take an extra Stern course to complete the Business Studies minor.
