The Academic Achievement Program (AAP) is an umbrella program that encompasses various programs for underrepresented students as well as several student run committees and events that are held throughout the year. Today there are over 200 students who participate in all of AAP’s various programs and events, including 25 student leaders who chair our various committees and over 50 student leaders who serve as mentors to first-year students.
Everything that happens in AAP is done by its members, who in the process learn how to lead, organize, and plan—all skills needed to succeed in life. Students in the program excel in every aspect of college life and do so through their support of each other.
AAP student leaders are advised by the College of Arts and Science Dean of Diversity and International Students, two academic advisors, and two graduate assistants. If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to contact the Director of the Academic Achievement Program, Candace Sumner-Robinson, at csrobinson@nyu.edu or aap.411@nyu.edu.
