CAS-GSAS Student Network - 2021-2022 Schedule of Events
The CAS-GSAS Student Network is part of a larger initiative to provide more resources for CAS students to learn more about liberal arts graduate programs, and help them decide whether or not these programs are the right fit for their academic and professional interests.
Students who attend one of our Fall 2021 events will be invited to participate in our CAS-GSAS Student Mentorship program, and be connected with a current GSAS PhD student to learn more about life in graduate school!
Our first two webinars will be recorded, and circulated to registered students. "Getting into Graduate School" will not be recorded.
October 7th, 5-6:15 PM
Thinking about a liberal arts graduate degree, but don’t know where to start? The GSAS and CAS administrators leading the CAS-GSAS Student Network will give a full overview of liberal arts graduate school basics: the different kinds of liberal arts graduate programs (Master’s vs. PhD), how liberal arts graduate degrees compare to other professional graduate degrees, and what you’ll need to apply to a liberal arts graduate program.
October 28th, 5-6:15 PM
How do you know if liberal arts graduate school is the right choice for you? What’s it like to be in graduate school? How are you even going to pay for all this? And what do you do after? For answers to these questions and more, join us for a panel discussion with current GSAS graduate students:
Natasha Gordon
Master’s student, Politics
Sara Frances Phillips
Doctoral student, Linguistics
Matthew Zundel
Doctoral student, Italian Studies
and learn more about why they chose to attend liberal arts graduate school, and what their experience has been so far.
November 16th, 5-6:15 PM
