Summer 2022 Update:
We currently plan to offer Research+ for Summer 2022. However, sessions will be remote. We also currently plan to be able to offer some NYU Housing stipends. These plans, however, are subject to change. Any changes will be communicated here and direclty to applicants.
Research+ provides co-curricular programming for a select group of students in all disciplines who wish to strengthen their understanding of research both within and beyond traditional settings. During the six-week program, students will participate in a weekly series of events, including lectures, discussions, and workshops designed to complement their practical research experience by introducing key issues related to research presentations and career paths. As a result, Research+ participants will be better positioned to achieve their personal, professional and academic goals whether they plan to pursue an advanced degree or other post-graduate training in the US or abroad. Successful applicants will be considered for NYU housing stipends for up to 12 weeks (i.e., Summer Session I and II!). Preference for housing stipends will be given to successful applicants with demonstrated financial need.
To be eligible, prospective participants must:
- Be a CAS student from any discipline undertaking a research project in New York City during NYU's Summer Session One;
- Please note that students planning to do research elsewhere but who will be doing full-time preliminary research in NYC during Summer Session One are also eligible and encouraged to apply.
- Meet all the eligibility requirements for the DURF program and submit a DURF grant application for summer (Individual, Team, or FAST Grant);
- Submit an application consisting of a résumé and a 250 word personal statement articulating why this opportunity will advance your research goals and/or how this program will benefit your current and future academic goals.
Note: Research+ applications can only be accessed after students begin their DURF application (once a DURF application has been started, the Research+ application can be found under "Programs"). Research+ application deadline now Wednesday, April 13 (5:00PM ET).
