Consulting and Tutoring Staff

The Writing Center is staffed by EWP Faculty Consultants, Graduate Writing Consultants, and experienced undergraduate Senior Tutors. They engage collaboratively with the full range of NYU writers seeking support and feedback about their work. 

Faculty Consultants are EWP faculty members who teach writing classes, consult with student writers in the Writing Center, provide mentoring for graduate consultants and senior tutors, lead our writing workshops, and facilitate our writing groups for undergraduate thesis writers.

Graduate Writing Consultants actively contribute to our culture of inclusion and belonging, working with first-year students, multilingual writers, and other graduate students from various schools and fields. Pursuing advanced degrees across a variety of disciplines at NYU, they have excellent academic and interpersonal skills and varied academic and life experiences.

Senior Tutors are upper-division, undergraduate peer tutors who have gained previous experiences and excelled in our Course-based Writing Tutors and Writing Partners programs. They now work alongside Faculty Consultants and Graduate Writing Consultants with students from across the NYU community. Above all, senior tutors embrace their position as undergraduate peers: they have confronted various writing cultures and challenges themselves at NYU and are now skilled at helping others along that path.
