Are you interested in applying to be a tutor in one of EWP’s peer tutoring programs? In the spring and late summer of each year, we invite applications for the course-based Writing Tutors and Writing Partners Programs from rising sophomores. We look for students who are not only sophisticated writers but also good readers, listeners, learners, communicators, and collaborators. With the Washington Square Writing Partners Program, we’re particularly interested in appointing tutors who show an interest in cross-cultural communication and exchange and who may be multilingual themselves. Applicants interested in the Senior Tutor position must first apply to the Writing Tutors or Writing Partners Programs. Being a peer tutor is a wonderful leadership experience, offering students the opportunity to develop their writing, listening, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills. Tutors from our programs go on to graduate studies in their fields ranging from the humanities to the sciences. They also attend law school and medical school, and go on to teaching positions, international education work, and research positions in government or non-profits. We are committed to sustaining and advancing a community of tutors and writers that is inclusive of all races, nationalities, gender identities, sexualities, and socioeconomic statuses.
