Leadership
Purpose of Committee: The AAP Leadership Committee works in collaboration with the Bronx Pharos Academy and facilitates a mentor program between NYU undergraduate student mentors with 9th-12th grade high school students in the Bronx. The program meets on a bi-weekly basis - typically every other Friday from 2-5pm - with the mentors and mentees alternating locations, enabling the high school students to obtain a glimpse of what college life is like when they visit the NYU campus. The Community Service Committee also plans AAP wide community service opportunities at least once a month through the academic year: aap-service@nyu.edu.

Student Engagement
Purpose of Committee: The Student Engagement Committee plans both large- and small- scale events for AAP, including the Fall Leadership Retreat, the End of the Year Social and cultural programs throughout the year: aap-events@nyu.edu.
The AAP Leadership Retreat is held during the fall semester. Approximately 50 AAP members are selected to attend a two-day weekend off-campus team-building event that allows for the development of strong relationships and for the program to encourage a strong base of student-leaders.
Golden Rose & K.I.N.G.S. are award ceremonies held in the spring and fall semester, respectively, to honor and celebrate the students within our community who have a positive and uplifting impact.
The End of the Year Social is a celebration of the year’s work and achievements. It provides an opportunity for students to be praised for their hard work as well as a general positive end to the school year. Seniors are also congratulated for their accomplishments and receive an AAP graduation stole.
Games Day (aap-games@nyu.edu) offers AAP members an opportunity to interact with one-another while participating in a social activity that solidifies their relationships. These activities include monthly games, training sessions and the arts. The purpose of the program is to build a community of AAP members where they have an outlet to enjoy being young people for a time while matriculating through college.
Public Relations
Purpose of Committee: The Public Relations Committee works together to display a positive image for our AAP community. They create flyers, videos, and promotional materials to market all AAP events through AAP social media outlets. They also collaborate with student organizations to promote campus-wide programming and create the weekly newsletter: aap-pr@nyu.edu.
