New York University's Prehealth Peer Mentorship Program (PPMP) is designed to connect health professional school applicants with NYU alumni who recently navigated the admissions process. Founded in 2016 by an alum of the College of Arts and Science, the PPMP complements the advising services offered by the Preprofessional Advising Center by adding the perspective and value of young, accomplished NYU alumni.
How it Works
Mentors, current professional students, work 1-on-1 with their mentees for one school year (i.e. one application cycle). Discussions include anything mentees are curious about: personal statements, primary and secondary applications, interacting with admissions committees, interviewing tips, mock interviews, and more! Mentees are also encouraged to participate in Group Mentorship Sessions, where mentors and mentees can meet several times throughout the year to engage in discussions about important topics relevant to the application cycle.
