Welcome and congratulations: you have now achieved senior status in the College of Arts and Science! Senior year is a wonderful time, a time to celebrate what you have accomplished so far, but also to make important decisions about where you go from here. We have created this website to inform you about the resources the College and the University provide to assist you as you move ever closer to the next phases of your career.
The University’s motto is “Perstare et Praestare”—persevere and excel. You have all built excellent foundations; but the work isn’t done yet. If I may offer some advice, now is the time not just to finish the graduation requirements for your major(s), but to take advantage of the true excellence of our faculty for any remaining electives. Take a course that challenges you in a field you have not yet tasted, continue a pursuit that has inspired you, or take another language course to continue to hone your skills. Plan this year carefully, and it can be the most rewarding yet.
I hope that your time at NYU has brought you many satisfactions—the excitement of intellectual discovery, the chance to grow personally, the opportunity for community service, and the warmth of abiding friendships. It is our privilege as the faculty and staff of the College to be with you on this journey.
I wish you all the best during your senior year, and I hope that your relationship with the College will continue and grow deeper with the passing years.
