Since 2015, WINS has run the Peer Undergraduate Mentoring Program (PUMP) to support women in CAS pursuing STEM as their major. This year alone, PUMP has paired over 150 underclassmen with mentors who are juniors and seniors in STEM majors across CAS. We hope to create a supportive and encouraging community where women from all STEM majors can come together to meet students in a diverse range of fields. Our mentors aim to support underclassmen, who are often in larger introductory courses, by providing insight and advice about their own path in STEM and research. In addition to mentor/mentee individual meetings, PUMP also hosts several larger events throughout the academic year to help create a community with all members, including social mixers, panels, and discussions.
We accept applications for both mentors and mentees at the start of each academic year. To keep up with our activities and events, visit our Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/NYUPUMP/
